There are some evidence that state the particular species of fish is found in the western Central America’s waters, and this is because the fish swims through the Panama Canal. Life History Of Tarpon
It is believed that a tarpon will live up to 55 years. It is said that a female tarpon has the ability to lay around 12 million eggs offshore. And the larva of the tarpon will be transparent ribbon-like creatures so it will not be very easy to identify it. In order to develop as juveniles, the fish will move towards the fresh waters or brackish waters.
In the first year, the fish will prefer to use the backwaters, and with age, the fish will be moving towards the wider habitats that will make the life easier. When the fish becomes an adult, it will be swimming in wider places and increasing its range. Some tarpon returns to the fresh waters in search of bait fish after a few years. Not necessarily all Tarpons will be doing so as some fishes love to live solo. The juveniles will have to depend on the surface in order to breathe without much trouble.
